On late February, I was very honoured to be invited by a well-known dance company "Feng Hsiang Dance" for documentary photography of their dance performance. This international event had been held for four years, many important dance companies between Taiwan and China will join together annually for celebrating the Lantern Festival. During these days, I photographed these children and teenagers while they were practicing, warming-up and waiting on back stage. It is very interesting that we are able to see dance performance from the angle which is more privately behind the scene. At that moment, they might help each other stretch or sway their bodies with the music. But sometimes, they just wait and see it calmly for their moment. On the other hand, as children and teenagers , they are more like roots. A shining root which is waiting for opportunities to be seen and also light up others. Then they will become brave and confidant trees, trees can be our foundations and shelters. And shining again.
