The Children

These photographs were taken in a music class for children with special needs in 2015. Autism, hyperactive syndrome, asperger and learning disability became the common points among these children. It was hardly recognized by the appearance if they were different. Normally, they have difficulties in concentrating, some of them would have repeated behaviors and speeches. Eye-contact is also avoided while talking. It was not easy to build a relationship when I came to their friend circle. It took me about two to three weeks to be part of the member in the class. In the class, they learned how to play music and cooperate with each other in order to develop an ability to contact with others and trained themselves in concentration.

She found me when I pictured her and smiled. Camera always brought their curiosity.

A comfortable smile.

She played a game with me: she put out one of the finger behind the table and I would guess which finger she showed. Then she started laughing because it's the middle one.

" You can't see me. " The only child without special need in the class.
He became one of the children in the class because he just want to be together with his elder sister.

The teacher sang a " beginning song " with children. It's a song that would noticed and reminded them the class was started.

Movements with music and tempo are the ways to train or improve the body coordination.

Both of them have hyperactive syndrome and they used to running around during the class.

I found they were slightly different from other children in emotional or feeling expression. They hardly hid or lied their feelings. Maybe it's because lacking social skills and learning disabilities.

The way she expressed her concern was to send you a gift, even it's not belong to her. I'd been given a cup of water after the class from her, to represent a friendship.
