The idea of this project was from the feelings when I came to London. At the beginning, I felt that people in the street were just a ID program and they will disappear after sunset and appear after sunrise. Moreover, I felt no-one belong to London, it wasn't a home town for anyone. Then, as everything were set up, I tried to adapt this environment and tried to be a part of Londoners. I use mask to be the people I want to be or be describe something meaningful to me because that does make me feel I am a part of London. Personally, mask could be a evidence or a tool that I really live in here and trying to find the sense of belonging. For me, mask has multiple meanings, it could represent an identity as fingerprints. Also, it means the likes, dislikes, personalities, characteristics and the imaginations of myself, or the impressions of “who I am” from other people. On the other hand, in my case, mask could have the ability to make the picture extremely objective. In these photographs, I personally think that the personalities were gone by putting my facial masks to others' faces. Both the objects and I became soulless human because of wrong faces or wrong bodies. Furthermore, it is interesting that how's the reaction from the pets, what will be create when the mask is on the fake model's face or what if the object half-wears the mask. Even the legal status of these photographs, who have the right of publicity when using the pictures in commercial way or when the content includes negative meanings? Please just have a laugh and fun in it.
